Health Analyzer to analyze vCentre Server Infrastructure aswell as stadalone hosts at other sites?

$

Hi All,

We have an infrastructure that has 1 DC with vCentre Server and 10 hosts, we then also have 7 other sites that all have just one ESXi Host on each site. so the 7 sites have standalone hosts and no vCentre apart from the one at the main DC.

My question is i know we can setup the health anayzer to the vCentre at the main DC, but is there any way to analyze the hosts at the 7 other sites?

Network is all on same subnet so other sites can be reached without issue and vSphere client can connect to all sites from the main DC.

Cheers,

I am actively performing a health check and running into problems connecting to Horizon View 6.2.1 with the latest HA appliance.  I was able to successfully connect to vCenter just fine for vSphere health check.  I've explored several changes related to JAVA but it did not resolve my problem.  The output from the vha log is below, I have removed reference to IP / Name for security.  I'm using the OVF appliance version of the health analyzer.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,

We're unable to connect to the Connection Server with the vHA 5.0.6.

Is there a patch to apply to use the actual vHA appliance?

Can you please update the Appliance to support View version 7?

Thank you very much,

Eugenio

VMware HealthAnalyzer 5.1.0 ST-008 false result

Hello Guys.

For one of my clients I run VMware HealthAnalyzer every month.

Right now I'm using VHA-5.1.0-build-4806144 version. And I have a problem with ST-008 "best practice". On the Observations tab I have an information that "3 host(s) have datastore(s) with no redundant storage path configured between the host and the datastore." and on Findings there are all my Datastores.

I've checked how many paths does the datastores have and each of them has 4 active paths.

What is interesting that VHA-5.0.6-build-2982442 version of Healthanalyzer does not have such a problem.

Any idea what is wrong?

Regards

Dawid

Previous Version Repository?

I have found several instances where I need to access previous versions of VHA but can only download the latest version. Is there a repository of older versions? I am running the latest VHA against View 6.2 and receiving service error during collection. I've tried all troubleshooting steps to no avail.

Thank you in advance

Are there anyone who can give me a download address of vmware health analyzer 5.2.0 or 5.3.0? I'm very appreciate.

I get the message "Project Error: Analysis could not be completed for all best practices due to unknown error. See application logs for more information" when I open the project after it has completed the Best Practices Review analysis.

Hi,

I have an issue with the Desktop Health Analyzer 1.1.

The VMwre view connection stop with error message: "Unable to connect to target server"

The logs looks like:

I already change the JDK security to allow any certificate.

Did somebody experience the same ?

Thanks,

How good a job does HealthAnalyzer do when pointed at a new vxRail installation?

Does the vxRail  installation get "all green" or are there best practice issues?

Thanks .....

Solved issue of importing the vHA-5.3.0-build-7325772.ova into Workstation 14 Player

Posted to stop anyone else from going through the frustration I have experienced over the past couple of days, when trying to get the latest vHA 5.3.0 .OVA imported into VMware Workstation 14 Player (prob same issue with Workstation 12.x Player also).

Issue. Importing the .OVA through the WS 14 Player GUI causes the application to lock up/go non-responsive and you have to kill the ovftool.exe process from Windows Task Manager.

Log Files. The ovftool.log logfile in C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Temp\vmware-{username} grows to 100's of MB in seconds and the vmware-ovftool-{random number}.log logfile (in the same directory) has the last line/entry of {yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ss.xxxZ} | vthread-4| I125: OBJLIB-LIB: Objlib initialized.

Resolution. Run the ovftool.exe from an Admin Command prompt and use the --disableVerification option.

E.g.C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VMware Player\OVFTool\ovftool --disableVerification "C:\Source\VMware\VMware vHA\vHA v5.3.0\vHA-5.3.0-build-7325772.ova" "C:\Source\VMware\VMware vHA\vHA v5.3.0\VMwareWSPlayer"

Have fun.

Martin

I found excel file extracted from VHA 5.3.1 is corrupted but from VHA 5.3.0 for same project file.

When I working with project file collected by VHA collector 5.3.1 on VHA 5.3.1.

I've noticed any excel file extracted from VHA 5.3.1 are corrupted and unable to load on excel.

When I process the exact same project file on VHA 5.3.0 I don't encounter with excel file related issues at all.

Apparently it is a bug on VHA 5.3.1, appreciate any advice in with regards.

Invalid Credentials

Trying to use the Health Analyzer 5.3.1, If I enter the SSO (PSC) server I get a response of 'Invalid Credentials' I can login to the PSC web interface with the same exact credentials with no problem, however if I remove the SSO server and just include the vcenter server all seems well.

Has anyone seen this or have any suggestions?  What would I miss by not entering the SSO server.  This is a 6.5 environment with external PSC.

Unable to generate report - HealthAnalyzer version 5.3.1 (JAVA)

I can perform every function except for generating the report. The error message refers me to the Application log which does not indicate any errors.

Word 2010 is installed on the workstation.

VHA 5.3 Reports are empty

After collecting and analyzing data I ran some reports just to find out the reports are empty.  It simply generates a shell of a report without any of the selected finding?

I was using the OVA version but I get the same results if I use the JAVA platform edition.   I don't see any errors in the data collection etc?

where do I look to see why this would be happening?

HA 5.3.1 - customized docx template didn't work anymore after saving it with word 16.7 (180909) on Mac OS (10.13.6) and also on Windows 10 Enterprise (1803)

Hi community.

I have been using an adapted Word template for the HA Report for a few years now.

I modified this template today and now it is no longer possible to generate a report.

I got the following error message:

ha531_error_message.png

If I restore the original word template - which was delivered with the HA 5.3.1 - I can generate a report without any problems.

As soon as I open the original template in Word (Office 365) and save it, it is not possible to generate a report.

I have tested this with Word on both a Mac and a Windows 10 PC.

I am using the HA 5.3.1 Java Appliance.

Does anyone have the same problems with template customization or even a solution to the problem?

Any clues are more than welcome.
